If you though choosing a Quatro would power your surf, you were right! If in doubt about jumping; Sander van Baaren proves they handle high altitudes …
We were blown away when we saw the Sander, and its amazing to see how windsurfing has evolved and seeing underground riders ripping that hard is always a reminder of why we windsurf and build boards!

Henrik is a local ripper and we were stoked when we received these original pictures! Lots of go-pro mounts have been tried, but the harness ones just beats them all! You can get the story behind the shots;gnarly,sub-zero conditions! Nothing bad enough to stop the core sailors!

Outside the factory some of our riders are waiting for promising winter conditions. Mingling, conversing, you know, what the West Kuiaha Cannery lends itself to. Inside the factory, a nice batch of prototype boards is waiting to be shipped out for production. These are the holy masters, the very boards that received Keith’s royalty badge, considered worthy of representing the Quatro brand for a little time to come. Be prepared, like our riders are. And most important, grab your Quatro board now and go rip, because that’s what it’s all about.

Lalo’s been settled between Maui and Spain. Taking care of operations in Europe from Barcelona left him little time to get in the water…Drying out isn’t a good feeling… Opportunity arised to move all from Barcelona to Tarifa! Wamer weather, nice swells and winds felt like the place to be for Quatro in Europe!
Recently installed Lalo scored some nice conditions in Canyos sailing and wasn’t short on surfing either! Entering a local contest he took second place and spread the stoke of Quatro arround our new european base!

Congratulation to Camille for wining with Style the AWT Makani Classic!

Marcos has been a friend in and out of the water along the creation of Quatro, pushing the level of what is possible of heights, rotation angles and wave riding. The vision stays untouched and here we can continue joining our energies to keep projecting the future of the sport in the Canaries and around the world, sustaining our culture and people to the forefront of the sport.
Marcos Perez:
“It is with pure joy that I join Quatro as it is a brand created by real sailors that love our sport. I enjoy getting in the water and not getting complicated with technical things. And with these boards I have those new sensations that motivate me to try new surprising things.
Thank you Quatro for giving me these new feelings.”

I have been working on the quad concept now for may years, my first attempts where obviously to take an existing twin and add boxes to see what would happen back in early 2007. But with limited success at first but with enough of some other different and nice feelings to keep pursuing the concept of having 4 fins.
Into the development I realized right away that fin sizing and placement where going to be critical. First fins I hand foiled with the fins being more of equal size and I found that it didn’t work so well. Finally I was able to spend some time with Pio from Maui Fin Co. and we designed some fins together. Right away the board was much better, from these good fins I now had a base to work from and started playing with fin box positioning. Again another critical element for best speed to turn ratio I came to a point where I felt that the positioning of the fins was good and started understanding how the fins were interacting. Now I realized that the board had to be completely changed to compensate and accentuate the features of having 4 fins, so I have been working on new outlines, foam flows, rockers, rail foils to support the flow and drive of the quads.
From my experience I find the Quad to have great pop for jumping, equal in planning to a twin, more neutral in the way you can initiate your turn either front or back foot, a little more drivy than a twin as it drives out of a turn with more speed.
But I really I think we are just at the beginning of the development of where multi-fin boards can go. Its hard to say that one is better than the other because really its not about this but about what suits your style more and the kind of sensations you are looking for in your sailing.
We at Quatro have always pushed board development as far as we could, from shapes to technologies. I want to see windsurfing move forward in design and this is what I bring to the table twins/quads/singles, all boards to have fun and that feel alive under your feet.
I have been working closely with Levi on his new quads making faster rockers and different outlines to accommodate his weight, drivy style and need for speed, and than I have myself who likes a lot of rocker. Both styles of board seem to really take to the quad concept. Quads really allowed my wave-sailing to go to the next level by staying closer to the wave and going more vertical while finishing my turns more fluid and complete. Basically giving me more freedom to express my style in the ocean…
I have shaped countless Quad boards for Pros and Customers for varied conditions and have gotten really positive feedback. So I feel confident that there is something in the quad concept and it is here to stay and complement all the other styles of boards available.

The twin fin has revolutionized wave sailing with tighter turns and increased maneuverability. Any amateur or professional sailor felt the added value of this concept and enjoyed the benefit of having a board that would help them push their limits even further.
Following this trend and motivation of sailors wanting to be as close to the wave as possible, the influence from surfing came in and Keith started thinking about adapting the Quad concept by bringing it to windsufing, bringing forward a brand new potential to modern wave riding.
At first, the Quads showed great abilities in wave sailing but had a few drawbacks that did not make it suitable for production. So after over a year or prototyping and testing, the quad shapes started to show new infinite potential with an amazing performance in overall conditions, great wave sailing abilities, early planning along with other very positive attributes.
Putting four fins on a exiting twin fin shape was the first step of the development. The result was ok, but as the fins were tuned to match the feel and grab of a quad the shape of a twin fin became no longer suitable. And from here, testing and working on shapes, exploring new rockers, curves and outlines Keith found the Quad shape that will allow the concept to shine in all conditions.
The all New Quatro Quad line will be an all new shape experience with two sizes, 75 Liters and 85 Liters featuring the new moon tail concept along with a brand new and progressive rocker that will feel even smoother and faster.
